(PTE)

About the exam

The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based English proficiency test developed to measure non-native English speakers’ ability to speak the language.
It is generally accepted in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Canada for university and higher education admissions, as well as for immigration purposes.

The Curriculum

The PTE Academic exam is divided into four major sections:

Speaking: Being able to speak English fluently and accurately is assessed in this section. You will be asked to describe an image, answer questions, and present a monologue, among other things.
Listening: Your ability to understand spoken English. You will listen to audio recordings of lectures, discussions, and news broadcasts and respond to questions regarding what you heard.
Reading: Assesses your ability to read and understand written English. You will read three paragraphs and respond to a range of questions, including multiple-choice, true/false, and short answers.
Writing: This section evaluates your ability to compose in English. You will be assigned two writing assignments: a short essay and a text summary.

Eligibility for the Exam

The PTE Academic exam is available to students over the age of 16. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic has no specified eligibility requirements. Anyone can register for the test, regardless of age, country, or residency status.

Exam fees

For Indian students, the PTE exam costs 190 USD (Inclusive of 18% tax).

Schedule of the Exam

PTE exam dates are accessible around the clock and can be booked until the last minute, thanks to PLC Group. Candidates can choose to take the PTE exam at PTE Test Centers in India or at home by selecting the PTE at Home edition of the test, provided they meet the system requirements for the examination.
